The combos are easy to perform and it's easy to connect one attack to another.
Nero and Dante play decidedly different, Nero has a basic setup with one sword, one gun and a devil arm that's basically a grab move, he will later on in the game receive a power-up move that makes all attacks more over the top and deadlier. He also has the ability to rev up his sword the same way you rev a motorcycle, which simply make the following couple of attacks more powerful and a lot better looking, but way too slow to charge up and feels for the most time useless. Dante on the other hand sports several weapons, several guns (including the best weapon of all time, you'll know it when you see it!) and 5 stances that perform slightly differently from one and another.
At a certain point in the story you simply switch from one character to another and then back, getting used to playing a different style of combat keeps the game refreshing but also a little bit annoying because just when you switch you have gotten a real good groove going.
The presentation of the game is both over the top and beautiful, from fantastic looking backgrounds to crazy cut scenes that although sometimes run a bit long should be seen at least once.
The sound part of the game is rather poor though, the acting in the cut scenes are fine, but the sound effects are recycled at an insane rate, you will after the first couple of mobs be tired of hearing Nero shout slamdunk and other stupid catchphrases when he throws enemies to the ground. And then there's the soundtrack, there is about 5 background tracks perhaps, and it's not muzak either, its crazy electronic metal with poor singing that borders on disastrously annoying.
The longevity of the game can be said in 2 simply words, Difficulty Levels, and loads of them too, if you enjoyed the game go ahead and play it again several more times and it gets harder and harder.
To finish this poorly written review off i will say that I mainly enjoyed the game, it has some flaws, and I don't see myself replaying it any time near.

Pros: Solid graphics, over the top crazy combat, and even crazier more over the top cut scenes.
Cons: Terrible soundtrack, boring predictable story, uneven difficulty levels.

7.8

About myself.

For you to know a little more about me as a gamer I'll write a little history of my gaming experience.

I have been gaming for a very long time, as a matter of fact I can't remember a time when i wasn't gaming, but the earliest I do remember was when I was about 4 years old, when my brother set up a bunch of DOS based games such as Maniac Mansion, Raptor and various Disney games for me to play on our family computer.
At that time I played a lot of Nintendo Entertainment System games as well as Commodore 64 games, but my very first console i got was the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, a console that i still have to this day, and occasionally buy rare games for.
From then on it has just escalated, from me owning my own PC, to me getting every single console out there besides Sega consoles (I have no explanation for the lack of Sega consoles, other then maybe that one of my friends bought all of them and we used to play them at his house).
At the moment I play games on my PC, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and Nintendo DS, these consoles are played on a HDTV (720p).
I have always been a mainly single player gamer, but also local multiplayer. That is not to say that i don't play online multiplayer at all, but just nearly as much as i play single player.
Speaking of online multiplayer, i have played insane amounts of World of Warcraft, but plan on stopping simply because it has become boring, and since the main thing i look for in a game is fun i just can't get myself to play it anymore.
As new consoles will be released I will surely get those as well, but maybe not on release day, or for the first year any ways.

Opening!

And there we go!
Finally i have a blog to call my own.

I case you've stumbled across this site by randomly clicking tubes, this is the site where I will be doing reviews of recently bought games, as well as thoughts on gaming in general.
My collection of games (not complete) can be found on my Listal page.

My reviewing system is simple. I grade a game on a 1-10 scale with .1 increments, like 6.4 or 9.1.
I will also write a list of Pro's and Con's, as well as what system i played the game on.

Games will be rated as a comparison to other games of the same genre, but also on it's own merits. They say that copying is the sincerest form of flattery, but when it comes to gaming, innovation and rethinking is a lot more appreciated then simply copying old material from either previous games of a series, or from other game series, and this will be looked down upon.

As I'm in no way sponsored by anyone, all games i review will be bought by myself (or given as gifts from my Girlfriend, family or friends), and reviews will therefore come at a very uneven rate, and will be in no real position to take requests unless of cause the requestee will be so kindle and send me a copy of the game. Also, i may not always buy new games, if a find some old game that i haven't played and buy it, it may get reviewed.
When i do get a new game i will post it, so you will know what game i will be doing next, this is in not way any indication as to when the review will be up, but more a note to say what comes next.

At the moment i do not plan on taking pictures or recording movies of any ingame material, as I don't have the means to do so, but I will provide a link to the game's official website.

On the subject of movies, I also don't plan on making any video reviews, because again I don't have the means to do so.

As for editing my reviews, I will always take kindly to people pointing out spelling errors, faulty links and downright misinformation, but I will not edit my opinions, score or pro's and con's.
